Cedar Drink Coasters - Western "Shaggy Bark" Red Cedar - Set of 4

$26.00
These wood coasters came from a type of juniper tree, commonly called New Mexico Red Cedar. This particular wood came from a place in western New Mexico called "The Ranchero Rim Ranch". (See pictures)

The red cedar tree is often thought to be a giant of the West, most easily identifiable by its shaggy bark and red hue. The fibrous bark can be easily peeled away (although not recommended for the longevity of the tree) and is the giver of life to a multitude of native animals. These trees reach extreme heights and diameters of over 100 feet tall and 10 feet wide, meaning snags, or dead trees left standing, provide homes for a diverse array of animals. Bears, owls, and other small animals and birds, all benefit from the remains of a red ceder long after it is gone. These trees can live up to 1,000 years old!

These coasters come 4 in a set and no sets are alike. They have felt pads on the bottom to keep your table scratch free. Set of 4 wrapped with twine.

Approximately 3/4" thick, and 3 1/2" diameter.
Cut from cedar tree branches, sanded and most of bark removed on this "Rustic" style. Our "Shaggy Bark" style that has bark left on.

Natural clear coat polyurethane for water resistant seal.

These wood coasters make a perfect gift, wedding table coasters, or cabin decor.
